To insure that your
design or logo gets reproduced to our exacting standards, follow these helpful DOs
and Don'ts.
When submitting your own artwork, please DO:
- Provide us with clean, black and white art that can be
easily scanned or copied onto vellum for producing screens, or converted to a digitizable
image for embroidery. Allow enough time to send your artwork via FedEx or UPS, if
necessary,
OR
- Scan your black and white artwork
at a high resolution:
300 dpi for very large graphics (7 x 7 in. or larger);
600dpi for mid-size graphics (4 x 4 in. to 6 x 6 in.) and 1200 dpi for very small or very
detailed graphics (business cards, etc.). Send your scanned TIFF or PCX files to us at our
Web Site as an attachment.
- Email files or send us diskettes or
CD-Rom disks with CorelDRAW® files (version X4 or earlier), or
Photoshop/Illustrator files (version CS2 or earlier) saved to IBM
format. When creating graphics in CorelDRAW®, be sure to
use ARTISTIC TEXT , not PARAGRAPH TEXT.
- Set up multi-color files using Pantone®
spot colors or CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) spots. These
types of files require less preparation time and can usually be easily
separated for screen printing.
- Convert all text to curves or paths,
when exporting from CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator. This
will insure that no font conflicts will occur.
Please DO NOT:
- Send halftone images as original art for screen printing.
The halftones often cause moire patterns in a screen-printed image, and do not scan or
copy well onto vellum.
- FAX your artwork. A faxed image rarely makes a good
reproducible graphic. If faxing is the only way you can get us the art, expect some
additional art charges to be quoted in your cost estimate. Depending on the complexity of
the graphic, it may take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours to re-construct a poor-quality faxed
graphic.
- Send us color art using custom colors, unless your wish your
art to be reproduced as a four-color (CMYK) process image.
